Today we celebrate All Souls Day, a day to remember those who have died. A note will be sent home that includes a special prayer.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) is Election Day. Polling Places in Indiana are open 6:00AM-6:ooPM.
We will have teacher training this Thursday and Friday, November 5-6. Students should not come to school, we will have eLearning Days.
Our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive will take place November 16-20. This drive will benefit Deacon’s Pantry, and the class that donates the most will earn a Popcorn and Movie party on November 24. A flyer with details will be sent home next week.
Friday, November 20, is a Casual Dress Day. We ask that each student bring one bottle of ketchup or one bottle of mustard (no glass) to donate to Deacon’s Pantry. Ketchup and Mustard will count for DOUBLE POINTS in the Thanksgiving Food Drive!
We will have school on Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week, with Mass on Tuesday, November 24. Thanksgiving Break is November 25-26-27. School resumes on Monday, November 30.
All students who go an entire month with no Discipline Slips receive a free casual day. In October, 31 of our 42 students earned the free Casual Day.
Note to families: If you see or suspect sexual misconduct or any other form of abuse by a school or Church employee, including clergy, report it IMMEDIATELY by going to www.stlawrencemuncie.org >> Parents & Students >> Parent Resources >> Report Abuse
During Socktober, we collected 962 new clothing items for Muncie Mission! Grade 2 donated the most with 322 items, so they will receive an extended 60-minute recess tomorrow! Thank you for your support.
REMINDER: If your child is going to be absent, please call the office as soon as possible. You may leave a voicemail, we check it regularly. Also, if you need to pick up your child before 3:00PM, call the office in advance. This helps the teacher have take-home work ready and is far less disruptive to the class.
Congratulations to our October Virtues in Practice recipients! These students represented Saint Lawrence Catholic School proudly by modeling Reverence (Showing your deepest respect for things of God).
Ashlynn Kiser-Kindergarten
“Ashlynn sits next to me at Mass, and she makes sure to pay attention during the time when the bread and wine become Jesus. She shows Him respect by being attentive during that time.” –Miss Kline
Mariyah O’Bannon-Grade 2
“Our class made their own rosaries this month and Mariyah took it very seriously. The other day she asked if she could use some of her free time to pray the rosary. I thought it was very reverent of her to want to spend her free time in that way.” –Miss McGarvey
Our November virtue is Stewardship (Returning to God the first fruits of your time, talent, and treasure).
