The Principal’s Newsletter comes once each week. Please always read it carefully, these newsletters are the best way to keep up with what’s happening. I’ll distribute a hard copy, send out an email, and post it on www.stlawrencemuncie.org >> Newsletters
We had a terrific first day of school! There were many happy kids, and it was wonderful to see our teachers using the talents that God gave them. Our new students include: Henry, Ashlynn, Trinity, Grace, Gracie, Monroe, Lyric, Daphne, and Itzzel. We're so glad that you chose Saint Lawrence!
If anyone you know is interested in enrolling at SLCS, encourage them to contact me. We have 3-4 spots left before we meet our cap. We’re enrolling new students until August 28.
The children did a great job of following our safety protocols today. We appreciate their efforts to social distance, wear face masks, and wash the hands frequently.
Parents did an excellent job of sending a lunch and drink today. Send a lunch again tomorrow and all of next week. Remember that lunches should not include candy, soda, or sports drinks (no Coke, Mt. Dew, Gatorade, Monster, Red Bull, etc.). Chartwells lunches are scheduled to begin on Monday, August 17.
I will pass out a Federal Free and Reduce Lunch application to all families. If your family qualifies, complete the application and return it to me no later than August 13.
We won’t have an in-person Back-to-School Night this year. In the coming days, I’ll send home any information that you’ll need. Please read all communications carefully.
Please send gym clothes each Monday and Friday. Gym clothes include tennis shoes (any color), socks (any color), athletic shorts or comfortable exercise pants, and the grey Saint Lawrence activity t-shirt.
Our first Mass of the school year is Wednesday, August 12. Bring children at Saint Lawrence Church (820 East Charles Street) between 7:30-7:50AM. Children should wear white polos and black dress shoes. Boys wear long navy pants, girls wear jumpers (K-1-2) or skirts (3-4-5). If possible, please stay for Mass (it will end around 8:40AM) so you can drive your child to school afterwards. We will have a bus available for any child who doesn’t have a ride, but we’re trying to limit the number of children on the bus.
I give my personal cell number to our families. If you need help or have a question that cannot be handled through the office, call or text me (before 9:30PM) at 317.702.8338
If your child will be absent, call the office at 765.282.9353 and leave a voicemail. Do NOT contact me or the individual teacher to report an absence, you must report to the office.
All students will be given a free Vision Screening at school on Thursday, August 13. If your child has difficulty with the screening, we will inform you in writing.
