This Friday, January 24, is a Casual Dress Day. We ask that each student bring one box of oatmeal, corn meal, or Jiffy Mix to donate to Deacon’s Pantry. This is an early-release day. Children can be picked up at 1:00PM. Any child not picked up by 1:15PM will go to After-School Care and will NOT be charged unless they stay after 3:15PM.
Catholic Schools Week (CSW) is January 24-February 1. I have passed out green schedules to families. Review the schedule very carefully, as we have special drop-off and pick-up instructions, as well as daily special dress days. All SLCS families should plan to attend a special CSW Mass at Saint Lawrence Church on Saturday, February 1, arrive by 4:15PM.
Our next Skating Party is Monday, January 27, at Gibson’s Skating Arena, from 6:00 - 8:00PM. Children do not have to be current Saint Lawrence students to attend.
Orange Shop with Scrip order forms are being sent home this week with all students. Order forms and payments are due on Monday, February 3, at 10:00AM.
Our next P.T.O. meeting will be Monday, February 3, 6:30-7:30PM at the school.
Our Spelling Bee for grades 3-4-5 will be Tuesday, February 4, in the Media Center immediately after Morning Gathering. Parents, family members, and friends are welcome to attend. The Bee should end by 8:45AM.
Picture Day for clubs & sports is Wednesday, February 5. Students wear Mass clothing.
Student Council is sponsoring “Penny Battles” to benefit the Muncie Mission’s Walk a Mile in My Shoes, as well as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Children should bring in coins and/or cash donations (any amount) to their classroom teacher. We will collect donations starting January 24 and ending on Thursday, February 6, at 9:00AM.
Our Student Council will participate in the Walk a Mile in My Shoes event organized by the Muncie Mission. The event will be held on the morning of Saturday, February 8. All staff, students, and families are invited to participate.
Our Dan’s Fish Fry is Friday, March 6, 5:00-8:00PM at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Each family has 18 tickets to sell. Look over the enclosed forms and sell all of your tickets. This is a crucial fundraiser for us, and advanced ticket sales help a lot! Tickets and money should be turned in by February 28. If you lose your tickets or money, or do not turn in unsold tickets or money, the school will bill you for the value of the missing tickets.
If you can volunteer to help out before, during or after the Fish Fry, please contact PTO member Aaron Fisher at
theaaronmfisher@gmail.com or
765.702.5978. We need people to bread the fish, wait tables, and clean up after the dinner.
