Our annual Red Ribbon Campaign continues through this week. Please encourage your children to participate in the themed days:
Thursday, 10/25 Class Color Day: K-green, 1-yellow, 2-white, 3-blue, 4-orange, 5-purple
(regular uniform pants/shorts, belts, shoes and socks)
Friday, 10/26 Super Hero Day: wear Super Hero outfits (Casual Day rules: any color shoes and jeans are okay)
Our
Box Tops in Education contest continues through this Friday. The class that brings in the most will receive a Hot Chocolate & Cookie Party.
Grade 5 is in the lead with 236.
There’s only five more school days of “Socktober”! New packs of child and adult socks should be brought to Miss Smith’s room. All students who donate socks will be entered into a drawing for prizes at the end of the month.
Last day to donate socks is October 31.
There will be
no school on Monday, October 29. Our teachers will be at the Indiana Non-Public Educators Conference in Indianapolis. School resumes on Tuesday, October 30.
The
final day to wear shorts (in 2018) is Tuesday, October 30. Shorts may be worn again starting March 1, 2019.
We will not attend Mass next Wednesday, October 31. Instead, we will celebrate
All Saints Day during 8:00AM Mass at church on
Thursday, November 1. This special Thursday Mass will take longer than usual. We will likely take the 9:18AM MITS bus to school, not our usual 8:48AM bus.
Picture retake day for individual students is October 31 (one week from today). This will be “White Shirt Wednesday” even though we don’t go to Mass. If you need an order form, contact the office.
Class pictures will also be taken on this day. Order forms for class pictures were sent home last week.
SLCS does not celebrate Halloween. Children shouldn’t wear makeup or costumes to school on October 31. All classes will celebrate All Saints Day with a party on November 1.
On All Souls Day (November 2) our Choir will participate in a Mass at Elm Ridge Cemetery from 11:45-2:00. Mr. Hart will communicate details with Choir parents.
Our next
Movie Night is Friday, November 2, from 3:15-5:30PM. We are showing
Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (PG) and serving Nachos. Mrs. Cope will send home a blue registration sheet on Monday. Forms and payment are due November 2 by 9:00AM.
Orange
Shop with Scrip Order Forms will be sent home next week. Orders and payments (cash or check) are due on Monday, November 5, at 10:00AM.
Our
Veterans Day Dinner is November 9! If you have served or are serving in the U.S. military, or you have a relative or friend who has served,
send in a photograph for our slideshow by November 2. We need the person’s name, branch, years of service, and their relation to one of our students. Email your photo to
e.smith@stlawrencemuncie.org. If you bring in a hard copy photo, include your contact information so it can be returned.
Make plans now to attend our Veteran’s Day Dinner on November 9. A flyer was emailed last week. Please encourage family, friends and neighbors to come. Please consider volunteering to help with serving, cleanup, etc.
Many hands make light work!
Donuts for Dads is Thursday, November 8. Join us in the cafeteria and have free breakfast with your child(ren). This event is open to any man who serves as a positive role model to our students. Men are encouraged to stay for morning gathering (8:05-8:15AM) to see how we begin each day with scripture and prayer. Doors open at 7:15AM.
On the original Boys Basketball schedule, I mistakenly listed the November 15 contest as a 5:00PM Scrimmage. This is actually a game that begins at 3:30PM at Saint Lawrence. Also, our Scrimmage versus Inspire Academy has been moved. We will practice (4:30-5:30) on November 1, and play the scrimmage (3:30PM) on November 19.
