LAST CHANCE: For this year’s yearbook, each family will be allowed to enter one “Shout-Out” to be printed in the yearbook at no charge.
“Shout-Outs” must be submitted by tomorrow. Limit 100 characters. I sent an email to all families on January 23 with a link that can be used to type your message.
Starting tomorrow, March 1, students are permitted to wear
navy shorts to school. Girls should still wear skirts/jumpers on Wednesdays, and we ask that boys wear long pants on Wednesdays with their black dress shoes.

Four-Star School by the Indiana Department of Education! We were one of only two elementary schools in Delaware County to receive this designation (Royerton was the other).
Our Dan’s Fish Fry on Friday was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who sold tickets, promoted the event, worked a shift, or just came to eat with your family.
We served 571 meals, far surpassing our 2017 sales of 422. We have donated $1,500 to Saint Aloysius Gonzaga School in Kenya.
SLCS is proud that Elizabeth, one of our grade 5 students, was accepted into
Ball State’s “Big M” Program! This week-long summer program invited gifted Mathematics students from around the state to explore deeper concepts in Math.
Congratulations to our February Virtues in Practice recipients! Here’s how
Carrie Armstrong and
Kaylin Tate modeled
Honesty (being trustworthy and true):
“Carrie was honest with me, even though it was hard for her to tell the truth because it meant she could be in trouble—she still told the truth.” –Mrs. Cope
“Kaylin is one of the two students preparing for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist this year. She always listens—is prayerful and contributes to our discussions in Religion class. She is always honest with me and the other students.” –Mrs. Brinson
The March virtue is
Mercy (caring for those who suffer).
Please consider sending your child(ren) to
Camp Ranchero Framasa this summer. This camp is a Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) event in Nashville, Indiana, for children ages 7-19. This is an inclusive, residential camp offering 3 & 6-day sessions. They offer financial assistance for families in need and you do not have to be Catholic to attend. A brochure was sent home on Monday with each student in grades 1-5. For details, see:
www.campranchoframasa.org or call 888.988.2839 X122.
