Today we welcomed back our grades 3-4-5 students, along with Mrs. Brown and Miss Beatrice! We thank all SLCS families for your flexibility and understanding during the quarantine, and for your continued diligence in preventing the spread of illness. Today we installed touchless hand sanitizer kiosks throughout the school to further promote a clean environment.
Every student has been given at least seven reusable cloth masks for their personal use. Please wash them regularly and send them to school with your student.
This Friday is a Casual Dress Day. We ask that each student bring one or more boxes of granola bars to benefit the Deacon’s Pantry.
Friday, September 25, is an eLearning Day. Students should not come to school, they will complete and submit their work digitally.
Orange Shop with Scrip Family Order Forms have been sent home. Our school gets 100% profit when you buy Pizza King gift certificates. Orders and payments (cash or check only-cards not accepted) are due on Monday, September 28, at 10:00AM.
SLCS will be on its three-day long Fall Break on October 14-15-16. Note that we are IN SESSION on October 12 and 13. School resumes Monday, October 19.
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be October 21-22. More information will follow.
For every person counted in the 2020 Census, our community will get $27,000 in funding over the next 10 years! If you have not already done so, please complete the Census before the September 30 deadline.
Our grade 3 students will participate in Captain Cash. This interactive program teaches basic financial management skills, including earning, saving, spending and borrowing money. We will have Captain Cash sessions on September 18, October 2, 9, and 23.
Our grade 4-5 students will participate in Tobacco Free. This interactive program focuses on tobacco and vaping prevention. We will have Tobacco Free sessions on September 18, October 2, and October 9.
Due to the recent quarantine, our speaker from First Choice for Women in Muncie had to be rescheduled. She will visit our grads 4-5 students on November 13.
As we move towards fall, remember that long-sleeved polo shirts ($20) and grey jackets ($35) are available in the office. Cash, check, or cards are accepted at time of purchase.
