Our first Mass of the school year is tomorrow (Wednesday, August 12). Bring children to Saint Lawrence Church (820 East Charles Street) between 7:30-7:50AM. All students should wear white polos and black dress shoes. Boys wear long navy pants (not shorts), girls wear jumpers (K-1-2) or skirts (3-4-5). Please stay for Mass (it will end around 8:40AM) and drive your child to school afterwards. We will have a bus available for any child who doesn’t have a ride, but we’re trying to limit the number of children on the bus. Any adult who attends Mass must wear a facemask.
Tomorrow’s Mass will be the final time that we’ll have school Mass with Father Dave Hellmann, as he’ll be starting his new assignment in Alexandria/Anderson very soon.
We welcomed a new student on Monday. We’re glad to have Iyonna with us! We now have 2 spots remaining in Mrs. Brown’s class, and one kindergarten spot left. Grades 1 and 2 are now full. We’re enrolling new students until August 28.
All students will be given a free Vision Screening at school on Thursday, August 13. If your child has difficulty with the screening, we will inform you in writing.
Please continue to send a lunch through this Friday. Chartwells lunches are scheduled to begin on Monday, August 17. I have passed out a Federal Free and Reduce Lunch application to all families. If your family qualifies, complete the application and return it to me no later than August 13.
If your child will be absent, call the office at 765.282.9353 and leave a voicemail. Do NOT contact me or the individual teacher to report an absence, you must report to the office.
Friday, August 21, is our first eLearning Day of the year. Students should not come to school, they will complete and submit their work digitally.
Friday, August 28, is our first Casual Dress Day. We ask that each student bring one or more jars of peanut butter to benefit the Deacon’s Pantry (no glass jars, please). Please review the Casual Day rules for clothing found on our website:
www.stlawrencemuncie.org > Parents & Students > Uniform Policy
Wednesday, September 2, is our first Picture Day. All students will have their picture taken, at no charge, for the hallway display board and yearbook. Families who wish to order picture packets may fill out the order form or order online. Order forms, as well as directions for online ordering, will be sent home. No family is obligated to buy pictures. For the September 2 Picture Day, students have two options regarding clothing:
Mass clothes (white polos, black dress shoes, navy pants for boys, jumpers/skirts for girls)
OR
Students who order a picture packet may wear formal clothes that are not school uniforms (dress for girls, dress shirt/tie/sport jacket for boys). Students who choose this option may wear dress clothes all day, including at Mass. Remember that heels, dangling jewelry, and makeup are never allowed
