Our free Advent Program will be held in our gym TONIGHT. Enjoy
The 12 Days of Christmas, featuring all of our students. Students should arrive by 6:00PM, the program begins at 6:15. Family, neighbors, and friends are welcome!
Next Friday, December 20, is a Casual Dress Day. We ask that each student bring one box of pancake mix or one bottle of syrup (no glass) to donate to Deacon’s Pantry. This is a full day of school, 3:00PM dismissal.
Our Christmas Break is two full weeks this year. Students are off school from December 21-January 5. Classes resume on Monday, January 6, 2020.
On Wednesday, January 8, 2020, our students will briefly tour the Deacon’s Pantry. The pantry is located at 310 South Hackley, right across the street from Saint Lawrence Church. We’ll walk over immediately after Mass. During this tour, students will see where their food donations go. The director of the pantry will talk to our students and explain how their donations are used to help those in need. Once the tour is over, we’ll take the bus to school as usual.
Our next P.T.O. meeting will be Monday, January 13, 2020, 6:30-7:30PM at the school.
Thank you for purchasing Scrip cards in December! We sold $5,275 in cards with an additional $1,285 in Pizza King gift certificates. This resulted in a profit of $1,592.17 for our school's Tuition Assistance Fund. The next chance to buy Scrip will be in late January.
Thanks to all who attended “Preparing Our Hearts for Christmas” on December 8. A total of $791 was raised to put towards playground resurfacing at our school.
Mrs. McKinley recently asked her kindergarten class what they would give to baby Jesus for Christmas. Here are some of their answers:
Oakley:
I would give him a bear because they are different colors
Hayden:
I would give him something to play with in the manger because he really likes baby stuff
Tariq:
I would give him one of my cars because they are fast
Milli:
I would give him a teddy bear so that he could cuddle up with it
Elijah:
I would give him wine because he doesn’t have any
Samantha:
I would give him a teddy bear because baby Jesus might like it
Emma:
I would show charity by making more friends for him and making him smile
The responses from the remainder of the kindergarten class will be in next week’s newsletter. Merry Christmas, Jesus!
