All SLCS students will have a free hearing screening this afternoon at school. If any student struggles with the screening, parents/guardians will be notified in writing.

Our annual Red Ribbon Campaign continues through this week. Today, each child will receive a grey Drug-Free rubber bracelet and a brochure for local businesses that offer discounts. Please encourage your children to participate in the remaining themed days:

Our next P.T.O. meeting is Monday, October 28, 6:30-7:30PM at school. This will be our final planning session prior to Mystery Dinner on November 2.
The final day to wear shorts (in 2019) is Tuesday, October 29. Shorts may be worn again starting March 2, 2020.

Picture retake day for individual students is Wednesday, October 30. We don’t have Mass that day, but students should wear Mass clothing. Class pictures will also be taken on October 30. Order forms for class pictures have been sent home.
On Thursday, October 31, grades 1-5 will go on an All Saints Ohio Pilgrimage. We will visit and pray at several historical churches. The highlight will be a visit to the National Marian Shrine of the Holy Relic in Maria Stein. All 1-5 students may wear regular school uniforms (no shorts) and pack a lunch and drink. Kindergarten will have a regular school day at SLCS, wearing regular uniforms, and also pack a lunch and drink.
We will attend Mass (wear regular school uniforms, but no shorts) on Friday, November 1, for All Saints Day.
SLCS does not celebrate Halloween. Children shouldn’t wear makeup or costumes to school. All classes will celebrate All Saints Day with a party on Friday, November 1.
There are only 7 school days left in “Socktober”! We’re collecting new packs of child and adult socks to donate to Muncie Mission. Students who donate socks will be entered into a drawing for prizes at the end of the month. Last day to donate is October 31.
Our Advent Program is Wednesday, December 11 (not December 18), from 6:00-7:00PM. All students will have a role in the program; so plan to attend with the whole family!
Orange Shop with Scrip Order Forms will be sent home this Friday. Orders and payments (cash or check) are due on Monday, November 4, at 10:00AM.
Donuts for Dads is Thursday, November 7. Join us in the cafeteria and have free breakfast with your child(ren). This event is open to any man who serves as a positive role model to our students. Men are encouraged to stay for morning gathering (8:05-8:15AM) to see how we begin each day with scripture and prayer. Doors open at 7:15AM. We’ll do an event for ladies, Moms Breakfast, on Monday, May 4, 2020.
On Casual Day last Friday, our school donated a total of 147 bars of soap to Deacon’s Pantry. Thank you for supporting this wonderful cause with your donations.
