Our next
P.T.O. meeting will be Wednesday, January 16, 6:00-7:00PM at the school.
We will celebrate our
100th Day of School this Friday, January 18 (assuming that we don’t miss any school prior to that date).
We will not be in session on Monday, January 21, due to
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Friday, January 25, is a Casual Dress Day. We ask that each student bring
one box of oatmeal, corn meal, or Jiffy Mix to donate to Deacon’s Pantry.
Friday, January 25, is an
early-release day. Children can be picked up at 1:00PM. Any child not picked up by 1:15PM will go to After-School Care and will NOT be charged unless they stay after 3:15PM.
Our next
Skating Party is Monday, January 28, at Gibson’s Skating Arena, from 6:00 - 8:00PM. Children do not have to be current Saint Lawrence students to attend.
Our January 29 Girls Basketball Scrimmage at Holy Cross School in Anderson
will begin at 4:00PM, not 4:30PM. We’re able to start a little earlier because we will dismiss at 2:40PM instead of 3:00PM due to Catholic Schools Week. We will dismiss from Saint Mary School.
Catholic School Week (CSW) is January 28-February 2. We have many events planned that are designed to be fun and strengthen our faith. I’ll send out a full schedule soon. Please pay attention to the themed-dress days and special drop-off and pick-up locations.
As an important part of CSW, all SLCS families should plan to attend a special CSW Mass at Saint Lawrence Church on
Saturday, February 2, arrive at 4:15PM.
Student Council will be collecting donations for the Muncie Mission’s
Walk a Mile in My Shoes, as well as the
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Children should bring in coins and/or cash donations (any amount) to their classroom teacher. We will collect donations starting January 25 and ending on Thursday, February 7, at 9:00AM.
Our Student Council will participate in the
Walk a Mile in My Shoes event organized by the Muncie Mission. The event will be held on the morning of
February 9, 2019. All staff, students, and families are invited to participate.
Tickets for the
Mystery Dinner and Auction (February 15) are on sale via our school website. Please consider participating and be sure to promote the event with co-workers, family and friends. Continue to work on getting sponsors. Sponsor forms and money can be turned in to the school office.
Yearbook order forms were distributed today. Yearbooks are $12 apiece, or you may select additional packages for additional fees. Fill out the form and return it to the office with payment by Friday, March 1. You can also order online (instructions are on the form).
Families may enter “Shout-Outs” to be printed in the yearbook at no charge. “Shout-Outs” might be something like:
“Great Job this year, Stephanie! We’re so proud of you!” All families can submit “Shout-Outs”, you do not necessarily have to purchase a yearbook. Use
https://goo.gl/forms/5WexEmXS3XifqRK12 to create your “Shout Out”, or see the link in the email I sent January 15. All “Shout-Outs” are due by Friday, March 1.
They Said It! We recently asked our grades 1-2-3 students about their favorite part of Saint Lawrence. Here’s a few of their responses:
I like how we go on field trips and learning different stuff even though I have trouble sometimes. I like Spelling Soup and how I get to see friends and have gym. -Alex, grade 3
We get to learn about God, because some schools don't teach Religion. -Natalie, grade 3
