We will not attend Mass today (Wednesday). We will celebrate
All Saints Day during 8:00AM Mass at church on
Thursday, November 1. This special Mass will take longer than usual. We will likely take the 9:18AM MITS bus to school, not our usual 8:48AM bus.
As of today, students are no longer permitted to wear
navy shorts to school. Students may resume wearing shorts on Friday, March 1, 2019.
SLCS does not celebrate Halloween. Children shouldn’t wear makeup or costumes to school on October 31. All classes will celebrate All Saints Day with a party on November 1.
On All Souls Day (Friday) our Choir will participate in a Mass at Elm Ridge Cemetery from 11:45-2:00. Mr. Hart will communicate details with Choir parents.
Movie Night is this Friday, 3:15-5:30PM. Blue registration sheets and payment should be turned in by Friday at 9:00AM.

Our annual
Veterans Day Dinner is November 9! If you have served or are serving in the U.S. military, or you have a relative or close friend who has served, please
send in a photograph for our slideshow by THIS FRIDAY. We need the person’s name, branch, years of service, and their relation to one of our students. Email your digital photo to
e.smith@stlawrencemuncie.org or bring a hard copy to Miss Smith. If you bring in a hard copy, include your contact information so it can be returned.
Make plans now to attend our Veteran’s Day Dinner on November 9. Please encourage family, friends and neighbors to come, and volunteer to help with serving, cleanup, etc.
Our next

long-sleeved polo shirts and grey jackets on this form, as well as other items. If you need an adult sized polo shirt, see Mrs. Waechter for availability. Order forms and payment (cash, check or card) are due by Wednesday, November 14.
Congratulations to our October
Virtues in Practice recipients! These students modeled Studiousness (Seeking knowledge to grow closer to Truth).
Gavin Burris-Grade K “Gavin is always eager to learn new things, and he loves to demonstrate what he has learned when he participates in our daily lessons. Gavin enjoys trying more challenging assignments as well. He loves working on math and reading skills that are beyond what we do in kindergarten. I believe that Gavin sets a good example for other students on what it means to be studious.” –Mrs. McKinley
Alexandra Folkner-Grade 3 “Alex is eager to learn and her attitude is positive towards learning. She has researched about stories she read in her spare time. She is excited when she finishes a book and gets to start a new one.“ –Miss Smith
Our November Virtue is Humility (Accepting your limitations and God-given talents).
Over the next two weeks, we will conduct
free hearing screenings for all students. The screening will be done by Rachel Busing, Speech Therapist from Muncie Community Schools. If a hearing impairment with your child is detected, you’ll be notified in writing.
Thank you for contributing to Box Tops for Education in our recent contest.
Grade 5 won with 242 box tops, so they will have a Hot Chocolate & Cookie Party this Friday afternoon. Overall, we earned $136.90 (school and parish combined), which will help our Tuition Assistance Fund. Remember, you can donate Box Tops in the office anytime.
On the original Boys Basketball schedule, I mistakenly listed the November 15 contest as a 5:00PM Scrimmage. This is actually a game that begins at 3:30PM at Saint Lawrence. Also, our Scrimmage versus Inspire Academy has been moved. We will practice (4:30-5:30) on November 1, and play the scrimmage (3:30PM) on November 19.
