Sacrament Class Picnic is today at Memorial Park in New Castle. This includes all grade 1 and 2 students. The group will go to Mass at church with everyone else, then come to school, then leave for New Castle around 10:00AM. They will return to school by 3:00PM.
If we get $1,000 in donations to our Athletic Fund by 4:00PM tomorrow, I will wear green face paint for the entire day on Friday, May 18. We have $885.15 so far.
The final Parent-Teacher Organization (P.T.O.) meeting of the school year will be tomorrow, May 17. Meetings are held at school, from 6:30PM until 7:30PM.
This Friday, May 18, is a Casual Day. We ask that each student bring at least two cans of vegetables to school to donate. This will be a full day of school, dismissal will be 3:00PM.
YMCA KIDZ Marathon is this Saturday, 9:00-11:00AM at BSU Recreation and Wellness Center. Parents should plan to attend with their children, arrive by 8:40AM. On Friday, each child will get a backpack with supplies and a t-shirt to keep.
There will be an Open House to honor Mrs. Brinson for her 41½ years of service to our school on Sunday, May 20. The Open House will be in our school gymnasium from 11:15AM-2:00PM. Refreshments will be served, please plan to attend.
Tuesday, May 22, is Field Day at Saint Mary School. Students should be dropped off at Saint Mary by 8:00AM. We will have games all morning and eat a pizza lunch. I’ll play catch with any student who wants to. I’ll bring my glove and a few baseballs, students who wish to play should bring their gloves (no bats). Children will be brought back to Saint Lawrence around 12:00NOON. We need drivers!
Next Wednesday will be a regular dress day, not a White Shirt Wednesday. Students may wear green polo shirts. Girls should wear navy pants or shorts, not jumpers/skirts.
On Thursday, May 24, grade 5 students may wear their special “Class of 2018” t-shirts to school. Grade 5 students may wear jeans/shorts and any color shoes that day as well.
Mass next week will be Friday, May 25 (not Wednesday) as we honor our graduates and distribute K-5 awards. Children should be brought to Church by 7:50AM, and parents should plan to stay for Mass and awards. The awards ceremony will end by 10:00AM. At that time, grades K-3 are free to leave for the summer. Grades 4-5 will stay for a reception at Saint Agnes Hall.
At our final Mass on May 25, K-4 students should wear white polo shirts and dress shoes, girls should wear jumpers/skirts. Grade 5 students may wear “Sunday Best” clothing.
We have a few 2017-2018 Yearbooks left. Bring $12 to the office to reserve yours. Yearbooks will be distributed to students on Field Day (Tuesday, May 22).
Do you need a way to keep your child(ren) engaged in learning this summer? Ball State University is hosting a series of Youth Writing Camps June 18-29, 9:00AM-12:00NOON. This camp is a great way to keep kids thinking and improving their writing over the summer. A registration sheet was sent home today with all students in grades 3-4-5. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.
Mrs. Guntle has four yellow male kittens that were born on March 25 and they need a good home. Mrs. Guntle will pay for neutering if you wish. Call the office if interested.
Thank you for purchasing Shop With Scrip cards this year! We earned $1,215.91 in profit from scrip cards, and an additional $1,420 from Pizza King cards. This money benefits our Tuition Assistance Fund. The Shop With Scrip program will resume in September.
Our Spring Fling was a lot of fun! Thank you for attending. There were 117 people in attendance, including 34 students. The Talent Show was great!
Thank you for attending our Sports Awards Banquet. We had 22 out of 25 athletes present, and 70 total people came to honor our athletes.
Breakfast with Moms was a great success, we had a room full of wonderful ladies!
