  • The City Track Meet at Muncie Central High School is today at 3:30PM.

 

  • The trip to Conner Prairie (grades 1-2 and some kindergarteners) will be tomorrow (Thursday, April 26). We will return to school around 4:30PM.

 

  • We will not be in session this Friday. Turn in lunch order forms on Thursday, or we cannot order meals for next week! School resumes on Monday, April 30.

 

  • Our annual Spring Concert and Art Show will be Monday, April 30, 6:00-7:30PM at SLCS. All students will participate in the concert and have artwork on display. Students may take their artwork home with them. Please plan to attend with your children, and invite extended family and friends to this free event.

 

  • Shop with Scrip Order Forms were sent home today. Fill out the orange form and turn it in, with payment, to the office by Monday, May 7, at 10:00AM. This will be our final Scrip order until September. Stock up on gift cards and Pizza King cards!

 

  • Grades 3-4-5 will participate in American Red Cross Project Pillowcase on May 3. This free program is designed to increase awareness for the importance of emergency preparation and educate students on common emergencies that occur in the Midwest. Each child will receive a pillowcase and a workbook to keep.

 

  • On Thursday, May 3, Cathie Bledsoe will be leading a parent discussion on Child Internet Safety. The free event will be at Saint Mary School in Alexandria (820 West Madison Street) at Zimmer Hall beginning at 6:30PM.

 

  • IUPUI is hosting Summer Reading Skills Programs for age 4 to grade 12. A flyer was sent home recently with each SLCS student. Call 1.800.964.9974 for details.

 

  • On May 4, our final Movie Night of the year will begin at 3:15PM and end at 5:30PM. The charge to attend Movie Night will be $8, which includes admission, a drink, and a popsicle. Nachos will be sold for an additional charge. Students who register and pay for Movie Night will NOT be charged for After-School Care on that day. We’re hoping that this new approach will allow more students to participate. We are showing Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales (Rated Y7).

 

  • Tuesday, May 8, is our final Skating Party of the year. 6:00-8:00PM at Gibson’s.

 

  • Make plans now to attend Spring Fling on May 11, 5:30-8:00PM at the Knights of Columbus Hall. This is a wonderful free event that will feature a student Talent Show. We will do a few raffles and auction classroom projects.

 

  • Breakfast with Moms will be Tuesday, May 15 (not May 1).

 

  • The Sacrament Class Picnic will be held on Wednesday, May 16, at Memorial Park in New Castle. This includes all grade 1 and 2 students. The group will go to Mass at church with everyone else, then come to school, then leave for New Castle around 10:00 am. They will return to school by 3:00. Mrs. Brinson will be sharing details.

 

  • YMCA KIDZ Marathon is Saturday, May 19, 9:00-11:00AM at Ball State University’s Recreation and Wellness Center. Parents should plan to attend with their children, please arrive by 8:40AM. The children have been preparing for this all year in PE!

 

  • There will be an Open House to honor Mrs. Brinson for her 41½ years of service to our school on Sunday, May 20. The Open House will be in our school gymnasium from 11:15AM-2:00PM. Refreshments will be served, please plan to attend.

 

  • We have discount admission coupons for Kings Island in the office. Pick some up if you or someone you know plans to visit Kings Island before October 28, 2018.

 

  • We’ve had a number of new students enroll for 2018-2019 recently. If you know of anyone who plans to apply, encourage them to do so sooner rather than later.

 

  • Over the next few weeks, I’ll begin interviewing candidates for our open teaching positions for 2018-2019. If you know of anyone who may be interested, encourage them to apply at: org >> Staff >> Employment Application

 

  • We have a many greeting cards for sale in the office. There are Thank You cards, Birthday cards, Sympathy cards, and blank cards in many styles. Boxes of cards are $3 each, and all money goes to our Field Trip Fund, which benefits all students.
