Buck Wilder
SLS will host an author, Tim Smith, who writes the Buck Wilder series for children emphasizing following your dreams and believing in yourself. Mr. Smith will be here on Monday, Sept. 13th in the afternoon. Books will be available, too. We will have a BUCK WILDER celebration!!! Buck Wilder's Small Twig Hiking & Camping Guide has won the 1998 Benjamin Franklin Award for the Sports/Recreation category. This national award is sponsored by the Publishers Marketing Association and celebrates excellence in editorial and design for books published in 1997: "This one gets an A+. Outstanding!" |

We will visit Minnetrista Cultural Center on Sept. 23rd to learn about John Chapman, AKA Johnny Appleseed. We will see the orchard, learn about Johnny's life, make cider, and tour the grounds. |

| Donuts for Dads |  |
Come early on the 23rd with dad, grandpa, or a special "dad" and have donuts, juice and milk. What a great way to honor our dads!!

We will be testing the week of the 20th. "BEE" sure to come to school well-rested, tummies full, and ready to show us what you know!!! |

| MOVIE NIGHT |  |
The Daycare will sponsor the first movie night of the year on Friday, Sept. 10th.
Marmaduke will be shown.

The first and second grades will sponsor a dinner at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Friday, Sept. 24th from 5 - 7 p.m.
Monies earned will help us pay for school projects and needed supplies.
