September 1, 2010

There is no school on Monday, September 6 in honor of Labor Day.

Mrs. Miller requests that all parents who have or will be doing volunteer work for Tuition+ hours please keep a record of what you did and how many hours you worked and turn it in to the office.

Our last scheduled Protocol Meeting was last week. Remember if you are going to do any type of volunteering for the school (driving for field trips, working in the cafeteria, etc.) you must attend a Protocol Meeting. We have had several calls about this. If you still need to attend one of these meetings, please call Mrs. Miller so your name can be placed on the list. We will contact you when another meeting is scheduled.

There has been a bit of confusion about our school Movie Nights. These are sponsored by the classes in order to raise funds for things the teachers would like to have for their classrooms. You drop your children off at the Daycare door at 6:15 and you pick them up between 8:00 and 8:15. This is only for St. Lawrence students. There simply is not enough room in the cafeteria to accommodate all the siblings. I apologize for any confusion this may cause.

The PTO runs a concession stand at the Ball State football games. Our stand is located on the students' side on the northeast corner. If you are attending a game, please be sure to buy your concessions from our stand. We get 10% of the profit.

The PTO is sponsoring a car wash on September 11 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Gas America at Memorial Dr. and the Tillotson overpass. Volunteers are needed for this event. If you can volunteer please call Chad Davis at 730-8850.

On September 13th, author Tim Smith (aka Buck Wilder) will be visiting our school. To carry out the theme of the day, we will be having Hobo Meals for lunch. For those of you who aren’t campers, a hobo meal is a hamburger patty, sliced potatoes, and carrots wrapped in foil. We will be baking ours in an oven instead of over a campfire.
